Lorna served in London, first in the War Office, and then in the Foreign Office. After the fall of Germany, she went to Berlin to assist in the work of the Allied Control Commission, which oversaw the management of the new zones of Germany by England, France, US and Russia. In 1947, she moved to Washington to oversee the Bizonia agreement, where England and the US shared the expense of managing their zones.
